A family run business set in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park
The entire team here at the Broch look forward to showing you just how warm and friendly Strathyre is! Located on the A84, the café is a place where you can take a break, get some amazing Lucaffe coffee, order some delicious food, kick back, take the weight off those weary feet and enjoy the awe inspiring scenery that the Trossachs have to offer.
Lesley and Bill took ownership of the café in 2015 and have worked hard to build the business up with three priorities in mind: great coffee, great food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Every order is freshly prepared, we’re not a fast food restaurant. The ingredients we use are very important to us and we don’t use cheap, mass produced ingredients for our dishes or for our in-house baking.
We’re not only well known for our café, our Broch Bakers make luxury celebration cakes to order too! Check out our gallery for some very tempting pics of the amazing work our bakers do.
Our team are fully trained and we have CoeliacUK training to make sure that our options for those who want gluten free are safe and delicious. We source our meat products from Comrie Butchers who are award winners too! Where possible, local produce is used and our eggs are free range.
Our owners have Italian heritage so there was always going to be Italian influence in what we do. That’s why we use Lucaffe coffee and why you’ll see the Rossini name used in our menus.
Ciao, a presto
p.s. that’s Ben Sheann in the photo on a beautiful summer’s day. Oh, and that’s one of the fresh ice cream cones that we sell from the Broch n Roll!
What does the name Broch mean?
The word ‘broch’ derives from the Norse word ‘borg’ (meaning fort) which was probably first applied to these ruined structures by Viking raiders during the 9th century AD.
Few prehistoric monuments are more immediately evocative than the broch towers of Scotland, with their grim and outwardly featureless stone walls scattered across the fragmented landscapes of the Highland and Islands, often formidably perched on rugged outcrops or inaccessible islets.
The café takes it’s name from this and if you have time, go and look the recreated broch over in the village field (opposite the café).
It really is a team effort here at the Broch and we are so blessed to have the amazing team we have.
Here they are, in the picture, enjoying a well deserved break just before Christmas in 2023.
Their hard work is very much appreciated.
We have been honoured to be nominated, to be finalists and to win some fantastic awards over the past few years. The start of 2024 has got off to a great start as we won the Scottish Cafe and Bakery Awards (Central Scotland) in February!
Thank you to everyone who has voted for us, it’s very much appreciated.
Award winning café perfectly located on your journey through the Trossachs via the A84 or National Cycle Route 7.
